Interview with a local business: Willunga Courthouse Museum

Nick van Vliet presents a series of interviews with local businesses in the Willunga, McLaren Vale & surrounding areas.

Nick visits the Willunga Courthouse Museum and meets Brain McMillan.

Business Name: Willunga Courthouse Museum

We always like to have visitors at our museum, this is one of three. Built-in 1855 and used as a courthouse and police station until 1929. Mock trials are sometimes held at the Willunga Courthouse Museum.

This building was built in 1855 and used as a courthouse and police station until 1929.

It is now open to the public on the first Tuesday of every month and every Sunday from 1 – 4 pm and we show what the building was like previously. We also use it for mock trials. The complex built from 1855 to 1872, was initially used as a female immigration depot in 1855 before the Police and Court moved in.

Next time you are in Willunga be sure to visit Brian at the Willunga Courthouse Museum at 61 High Street, Willunga.
