Interview with a local business: The Golden Fleece Cafe, Willunga

Nick van Vliet presents a series of interviews with local businesses in the Willunga, McLaren Vale, Mount Compass & surrounding areas.

Nick visits The Golden Fleece Cafe and meets Stacey Giles. The Golden Fleece is a retro, funky breakfast and lunch cafe.

Business Name: The Golden Fleece Cafe – 1/30 High St, Willunga

Why are you called The Golden Fleece?

It used to be a service station a long time ago before the big Victor Harbor Road.

What are some of the secrets you like to share with interstate visitors and tourists when they stop in?

I love the Victory Hotel up at Sellicks and we go to Wirra Wirra. But in this main street, I do the majority of my shopping in this main street. We love all the little gift shops. Irene’s Gallery and Tall Poppy.

Why did you choose this site in Willunga to set up the business?

We love Willunga – we’re both locals Mum and I. We just love the little town. As soon as this became available for sale, we jumped at it.

Next time you are in Willunga be sure to visit Stacey at The Golden Fleece Cafe.
