OC Routine Inspection Guide: Keeping Your Home in Great Condition

Read in 2 minutesBy OC Real Estate

At OC Property Management, we see routine inspections as an important part of caring for your home. They give us the chance to identify any maintenance needs or improvements, review tradespeople’s work, and provide your landlord with peace of mind that the property is being well looked after.

Why We Do Routine Inspections

Routine inspections help keep every OC property in its best possible condition. They allow us to:

  • Pick up on maintenance or safety issues early
  • Make sure recent repairs and improvements meet OC standards
  • Support both tenants and landlords in maintaining a quality home environment

Getting Ready for Your Inspection

Before your inspection, please make sure all areas of the property are clean, tidy, and accessible, including garages and sheds. If you have pets, please ensure they are safely restrained.

During the inspection, our team will take photos of fixtures, fittings and general areas to show that the property is being maintained to a good standard.

Quick Preparation Tips

A few small steps can make a big difference:

Inside the home

  • Vacuum carpets and mop hard floors
  • Clean the bathroom and kitchen thoroughly
  • Wipe down glass, mirrors and benches
  • Remove marks from walls and switches
  • Dust windows, fans and light fittings

Outside the home

  • Mow and edge lawns if applicable
  • Remove weeds from garden beds and paving
  • Sweep verandahs, driveways and paths
  • Clear cobwebs and tidy outdoor spaces
  • Remove any pet droppings
