Open the Door to 'Mondrian' - a Tri-Level Work of Art Sculpted by Tusmore Park Itself

Offers Close Tue, 26th May - 12pm (USP) Conceived by by architect Angelo Ali with Artist wife Cathryn Scott Ali, 'Mondrian' is a rare architectural work that earns its name and place, translating the discipline, colour and asymmetry of its artistic influence into a warm, vertical home within the folds of Tusmore Park. Completed in 1997 and recognised at a national level for both house and interior design, it fuses art, architecture and nature into one resolved idea, where primary colour punctuations, mosaic detail, curves, asymmetry and layered textures soften the precision of its modernist frame. Across approximately 350sqm, the home rises vertically to preserve its generous gardens, with only a modest footprint at ground level, allowing greenery to press in from all sides and turning every room into a vantage point. A four-bedroom plan unfolds through a sequence of voids, terraces and glazed edges, with a lift stitching each level together, from a flexible lower-level retreat to a conservatory-style treetop lounge that sits quietly within the canopy. It is at once protective and open, sculptural and liveable, a home that supports family life, entertaining and retreat in equal measure, while holding a constant dialogue with a park that will often feel like yours alone. And it's a beautiful thing. Open the door to: • A nationally awarded architectural home where art, structure and landscape are conceived as one cohesive work, inspired by the 'International' design movement • A tri-level design that maximises land use vertically, preserving generous, landscaped gardens and park connection • A four-bedroom layout with a flexible, semi-self-contained lower level suited to guests, extended family or independent living • A lift servicing all levels, connecting the home with ease from ground to conservatory-style treetop lounge • Expansive glazing on multiple sides, ensuring every room maintains a visual connection to Tusmore Park, First Creek and surrounding gardens • A sequence of voids and terraced breakaways that draw light deep into the home and extend living outward • A material palette of polished concrete, terracotta tiles, textured masonry and mosaic detailing that balances durability with expression • A distinctive open-plan kitchen with curvaceous island, Siemens induction cooktop, deep storage and Liebherr integrated fridge and freezer • External access, semi-kitchenette, studio style living, bathroom and servery window to lower level retreat • Professionally designed gardens with seating nooks, pond and places to entertain with a rare sense of privacy and tranquility • Direct adjacent to Tusmore Park and First Creek, effectively extending the home's sense of space beyond its boundaries • Extensive parking under the home, electric gated entry, efficient reverse cycle a/c, automated watering system The architecture may carry the name, but the location completes the painting, drawing Tusmore Park's pools, courts, lawns and First Creek into the foreground, placing Marryatville High School zoning firmly in the frame, and keeping Burnside Village, Norwood, the Hills, Hazelwood Park, Pembroke School and the CBD with in its orbit.
