The jewel in the crown

Offers Close Wed, 30th April - 5pm (usp) This beautiful sandstone Villa was built in 1895 and stands as one of the most elegantly preserved seaside homes of this era. 5 York Street is the perfect pairing of modern sophistication and period elegance. Describing this home as having the WOW FACTOR would be an understatement. Set proudly on an elevated 628 square metre allotment, this is a residence that easily accommodates a growing family and houses up to five cars off-street with rear lane access to an oversized double garage and three additional cars with entry via York Street. The internal footprint offers three to four bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open-plan luxury living space that opens seamlessly to a covered alfresco and a magnificent, established lawn and architecturally designed garden. Inside, you are met by soaring 3.5 metre high ceilings that just add to the grandeur of this exquisite home. You won't be disappointed. The location really speaks for itself, but for the newbies in town, 5 York Street is a minute's stroll to some of the best cafes, restaurants, shopping and entertainment in the West. The entrance to the Henley Pavillion is virtually at the end of the street, and on the other side is Henley Square, the jetty, the glistening white sandy beach and a giant salty pool named St Vincents Gulf. There is plenty of action and fun things to do for all the family, all year round. The Henley community is wonderful to be part of, and for the children, the local public and private schools are all excellent and within walking distance. Public transport is easily accessible if you wish to venture out or take a 15-minute drive to the CBD, 10 minutes to the airport and Glenelg and in 1 hour, you can enjoy South Australia's excellent wine regions. The home will suit just about everyone, including retirees. The gardens are reasonably low maintenance, and the internal footprint will accommodate guests and families for short or long-term stays.
