VICTORIAN TREASURE - PRICELESS SETTING
Recognised by the City of Unley as a notable part of Forestville's residential history, this 1884 constructed, free-standing, single fronted cottage faces Forestville Reserve in the areas most coveted and closely held street. Torrens Titled, brim full of gorgeous character features (plus a cellar), and already comfortable with a casual living extension, the home has incredible potential to further enhance and value add over time.
Tram, bus or train transport is at the doorstep, as is the Sunday Farmer's Market, Unley Swimming Centre and vibrant Goodwood Road cafes, shopping and restaurants. Fine public schooling is nearby and the property is in the Adelaide/Botanic High School catchment.
Framed by a stunning, mature Frangipani tree, entry is made from the welcoming, east-facing front verandah to a wide hallway with ornate arch, cove cornices and beautiful leadlight. There are two generous bedrooms, the second of which has an adjoining study/robe/nursery which would lend itself well to conversion to an ensuite. The central, sitting/dining room with fireplace has built-in cabinetry and a hatch-door to the cellar. A circa 1980s addition has a neat bathroom/laundry and a basic but homely, open-plan, timber kitchen. The living area, at the rear, features double French doors to a covered verandah, with fitted shade blinds, overlooking the established garden.
Enjoying good natural light from the north, extras include ducted and zoned gas heating, a split a/c unit, ceiling fans, gas cooking and modern instant hot water service. A car may be parked off-street if desired, alternatively, permit parking is available in front of the home.
Forestville's finest location? - what's not to love about this Victorian treasure!
